1961        Studied art at East Sydney Technical College.

1970        Studied sculpture at North Sydney Technical College with Bim Hilder.

1975        Studied ceramics at Brookvale Technical College.

1978        Joined Society of Sculptors at The Rocks.

                Exhibited in mixed show at the Sculptors’ Society.

1980        Exhibited and helped co-ordinate "Sculpture for the Blind".

1981        Worked with handicapped children in kite making and flying with a group of sculptors for "Year of the Handicapped".

1982        Invited to submit design for "Businesswoman of the Year" award.

                Held exhibition of sculpture in artist's studio and garden.

1983        Selected to exhibit at Irving Sculpture Gallery in Member's Exhibition.

Exhibited at Centre Art Space, Chatswood.

1983-86   Sculpture teaching to children at Roseville Public School.

1984        Worked and exhibited at Sculpture Symposium in Brisbane at Warana Festival.

                Exhibition for proposed Sculpture Gardens, Parramatta.

Exhibited at Woollahra Galleries in joint Christmas show of the Sculptors' Society.

1985        Exhibited at the Maquette for City Sculpture exhibition, ANZ Bank Gallery, Martin Place.

                Held joint exhibition at Old Bakery Gallery, Lane Cove - "Pastel and Stone".

                Researched and studied sculpture in New York.

                Commenced teaching sculpture at Ku-Ring-Gai Art Centre.

1986        Produced sculptured pots for Old Bakery Tea Pot Show.

                Taught sculpture at All Saints College, for Art and Artist's week in Bathurst.

                Designed award for Channel 9 - Business Sunday.

Produced design for the Bi-Centenary Wall of History to be jointly constructed by members of the Sculptor's Society.

                Exhibited work in joint exhibition at Holdsworth Gallery.

1987        Commissioned to work on the site at Gallery 460, Gosford, for new Sculpture Park - carving 2m x 1.5m x 1m sandstone block.

Commissioned by Ku-Ring-Gai Council to execute a figurative group of sculptures for their Bi-Centenary Park, Pymble.

1988        Designed and executed 2 sandstone sculptures for Ku-Ring-Gai Art Centre Park.

Commissioned by Wisemans Ferry Chamber of Commerce to design and execute a sculpture of Solomon Wiseman. The life-size bronze is installed adjacent to the hotel.

                Exhibited at Painters Gallery in Christmas Show.

1989        Commissioned to design and execute terra-cotta mural 1.7m x l.3m in bas-relief.

                Exhibiting and selling sandstone works through Access Gallery, Balmain.

Commissioned to create a series of sandstone bird-baths for a commercial landscape company.

                Continued and expanded Ku-Ring-Gai Art Centre sculpture classes.

Commissioned to carve a 2.8m figure of a Manchurian man for a commercial restaurant.

1990        Carved "Snow Leopards" in sandstone for Taronga Zoo.

Invited to participate in stone sculpture symposium at Sydney Opera House, Benelong Point, with Nicholas Mukomberanwa from Zimbabwe.

Continued teaching and development of sculpture classes at Ku-Ring-Gai Art Centre.

Commissioned to execute bronze figure of "Buddy Williams", legendary Country & Western artist, for the Tamworth Memorial Park.

Commissioned to create and construct three 2m ferro-cement figures for Twin Waters Resort Hotel in Queensland.

                Mixed media exhibition, "The Dressing Room", at Access Gallery.

1991        Won "Highly Commended" for sculpture at Hunter's Hill Art Show.

Commissioned to design and execute Bas Relief and bronze figurative sculptures for Coogee Bay International Hotel.

Works selected for sale at Guggenheim Collection in Gallery shop, Art Gallery of NSW.

                Exhibited in group show at Artlook Gallery.

Exhibited in 6th Birthday Show at Access Gallery.

Sandstone sculpture (2m, 4.5 tonne) chosen by South Sydney Council and installed at Beare Park, Elizabeth Bay, Sydney.

1992        Solo exhibition "Summer at North Curl Curl", Access Gallery.

                Won "Commended" for sculpture at Hunters Hill Art Show.

Commissioned by Graphis Art Consultants for bronze sculpture for ANA Hotel,

                Commission - Lidcombe Community Centre, 1.5m abstract sculpture.

Large scale Organic sandstone work selected for Macquarie University Sculpture Park.

                Exhibited in group show at Allegro Gallery.

1993        Exhibition of Bronze Figures at Beaver Gallery, Canberra.

                Exhibited at S.H. Erwin Gallery - "On the Other Hand".

                Established new studio in Surry Hills.

Commission - Nine larger than life bronze cats for Waterfront Development, Kuching, Borneo.

                Recommenced sculpture classes in new studio, The Warehouse, Surry Hills.

1994        Elected President of Sculptor's Society.

Commissioned to design & produce Bronze Award for “New Woman” Magazine.

Commissioned to design and execute life sized bronze “Dingo” for Duaringa Shire, Queensland.

1997        Twelve sculptures purchased by Crown Casino, Melbourne for their private suites

Commissioned to produce a contemporary sculpture fountain for a private residence.

Commissioned to design and produce two contemporary sculptures for the Sheraton Hotel, Kuala Lumpa.

Commissioned to design and produce two stone figurative sculptural forms for a merchant banker.

1998        Commissioned to produce sculptural busts of Banjo Patterson and Henry Lawson for a major book publisher and retailer.

Organised a group of 14 established sculptors to exhibit at the Wombarra Sculpture Garden - Take it Outside . . . Sculpture for the garden.

2002        Private commission, Vaucluse. White cement female form for private garden.

                “Juicy Girls” exhibition at Peter Naef Gallery, Surry Hills.

Private commission, two bronze fountains for client at Parsley Bay, Vaucluse.

Take It Outside...2002... Sculpture for the Garden. A second exhibition by 12 sculptors over two weeks at the Wombarra Sculpture Garden.

Selected for entry and display in the Woollahra Council Sculpture Competition.

2003        Willoughby City Council, Public Art Award. Won commission for a public sculpture at the Willoughby Park of a life size bronze figure, “Daphne”, in collaboration with John Haymes.

Wombarra Sculpture Garden established as a permanent display of site specific sculptures in the rainforest landscape. Majority of works by Gaby Porter.

Guide Dog Association. Invited to create an original work for auction.

2004        Wombarra Sculpture Garden Continued to extend and develop the landscape, sculpture and Black Duck Café.

2005        Private Commission Bronze fountain water feature, life size female figure and limestone abstract form for private client at Wallaringa Mansions, Neutral Bay.

2006        Private Commission Bronze abstract form for Australian Art Resources, Elizabeth Bay.

2007        Private Commission Abstract limestone design for landscape in Cremorne, Sydney.

                Private Commission 1.8m abstract bronze sculpture for residence in Mosman, Sydney.

                Spirit Level Design Four ferro cement forms from my “Odd Pods” series. 1.2m to 1.8m.

2008        Helensburgh Landcare Group 2.5m bronze figure of an historical coalminer for the township centre.

Wombarra Sculpture Garden Developing mosaic sculptural work for the sculpture garden, including 4 metre female figure.

Continuing creating environmental installations for the sculpture garden.

2009        Moved home and studio permanently to Wombarra.

2010        Private commissions, Northbridge, Balgowlah, and Jamberoo.

2011        University of Wollongong Five life-size bronze swamp wallabies for the University Campus.

2012        Published “Wombarra Sculpture Garden”. A pictorial history and record of the garden. Foreword by Bruce McKenzie, introduced by Babette Hayes.

Awarded OAM The Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the visual arts as a sculptor, author and educator.

2015       Unreal Fruit Exhibition Held in the Wombarra Sculpture Garden

2016        Environmental Sculpture Built and installed a large Bower sculpture for play at the Wombarra Pre-School.

2017        Blue Phoenix Created a ceramic mosaic tiled sculpture for the Wombarra Creek Bushcare project at the Wombarra Creek.
